What You’ll Need
Pie box template Cardstock in brown, black, yellow, orange, and red Scissors Hot glue gun White glue 1-inch pom poms, white Miniature-sized pom poms, brown (or black)
Step 1: Make the Box
Download and print the pie box template in two different sizes—the larger size will be the lid, and the smaller size will be the pie box bottom. Here, the pie box template is printed at 100% for the lid and 97% for the bottom. Trace the template onto brown card stock. Cut out and assemble with a hot glue gun.
Step 2: Add the Face
Use yellow card stock to cut out a triangular beak and red card stock to cut out the turkey’s snood. Glue the snood and the beak to the top of the pie box. To make the turkey’s eyes, hot glue miniature brown pom poms onto larger white pom poms. Hot glue the eyes onto the pie box.
Step 3: Add the Details
To make the turkey’s plumage or a pilgrim hat, download and print the template. For the plumage, trace the template onto red, orange, and yellow card stock. Next, cut out and glue each color on the others using white glue. Then, hot glue the entire plumage onto the pie box as shown. For the pilgrim hat, trace the template onto black card stock and cut it out. Embellish the hat with a white strip of paper, followed by a yellow square and a white square. Fold the hat slightly from the bottom to create a tab; hot glue the hat to the Thanksgiving pie box from the tab.
